Bio - Zanda Elwood
Zanda Elwood (born Alexander Bacvanin, 3 September 1995) is a Melbourne-born Australian hip-hop / R&B artist known for his emotionally intimate lyricism, genre-blending production, and fearless authenticity.
From the age of 3, Zanda’s life was soundtracked by guitar strings, soul, and the records his father brought home. He discovered rap as a teenager — by 12 or 13 he was writing, spitting, and turning his life into verses.
His debut full‑length album, Amongst Da Khaos (released October 2024), is a 22-track journey through mental health, survival, resilience, and raw confession. The project has struck a chord — early streams, buzz, and reviews highlight its power to connect with people navigating adversity and the need for truth in art.
Zanda’s style resists neat categorization. He merges hip-hop, R&B, and alternative elements, writing music that acts as both therapy and testimony. His influences are wide: Eminem, Notorious B.I.G, 2Pac, and local Australian hip-hop greats — but he also grew up loving rock and indie, so his ear is ever-widening.
He operates independently. No major label constraints. He’s built a following the hardway: through underground circuits, raw storytelling, refusing to mold for trends. He’s opened for artists like Madchild, Obie Trice, Tech N9ne in Australia, testing his mettle live and refining his stage presence.
What you hear when you listen to Zanda Elwood isn’t just music — it’s testimony.
It’s trauma turned into art.
It’s confession over drill, hard 808s and trap or neo punk, and ethereal R&B.
It’s a reminder: resilience is not quiet.
Zanda speaks for everyone without a voice.
